MY 2025 HT550 JOURNEY PART 1: I MAY NEED YOUR HELP?

Writer: AllanAllan

Hello everyone

I’m excited to introduce my upcoming 13-week video blog series chronicling my preparation for the 2025 HT550 bike packing race. Since I mentioned this adventure on Instagram, I’ve received a fair amount of questions and advice—from seasoned bike packers and experienced friends to curious onlookers who are new to the concept.

For those unfamiliar with the event, the infamous HT550 starts in Tyndrum and winds nearly all the way to the top of Scotland, and then back to Tyndrum. The course is a diverse mix of terrains, including hiking trails, bike paths, gravel tracks, and remote walking routes. and to top it off, you have to be self-sufficient throughout the journey. Depending on your approach, it can take anywhere from 3–4 days to 7–8 days to complete within the event’s official constraints.

In the coming weeks, I’ll be releasing short weekly videos covering everything from training tips and gear recommendations to personal insights and practical advice. I welcome your comments, questions, and any additional advice you might have about bike packing or multiple overnight stays during such adventures.

We’re 13 weeks from the HT550 at the time of writing this, and there’s a lot to prepare. So I'd truly appreciate your support. So please drop a like, subscribe to my YouTube channel, and follow me on Instagram at Ravens Outdoor, where I share most of my updates.
